Lumecca-I

Lumecca/Lumecca-I Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is used to treat dry eye, meibomian gland dysfunction, ocular rosacea/rosacea, demodex, chalazia and blepharitis. IPL emits a specific wavelength of light that is absorbed by irregular blood vessels and pigment in the epidermis. This destroys pigment spots and the vessels that are causing inflammation. For dry eye it’s very important to break the inflammatory cycle.

Lumecca-I is also very effective at eradicating the demodex population inside the eyelash follicles. Demodex is a major contributor to dry eye and lid inflammation. Similar to RF, Lumecca/Lumecca-I will improve the quality and density of collagen and elastin in the skin of the treated area. When done over the entire face (often called a photo-facial), there is significant improvement in the texture and appearance of the treated skin.
